Brendan Schaub Shares Bold Prediction For Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje 2 At UFC 291
Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub knows who he's picking to emerge victorious in the UFC 291 headliner.
Taking center stage in the main event spot will be a rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje. The two former interim UFC lightweight champions first shared the Octagon back in 2018. It was Poirier who had his hand raised courtesy of a fourth-round TKO finish.
Their UFC 291 rematch will be contested for the symbolic BMF Championship. It'll be the first time that title has been put up for grabs since late 2019 when Jorge Masvidal defeated Nate Diaz via doctor's stoppage.

Brendan Schaub gave his assessment of the main card fights set for UFC 291 this Saturday night (July 29) during a recent episode of "The Schaub Show." He revealed where he thinks the rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will go.
"I do think we'll get a little more grappling in this fight," Schaub said. "I think Poirier's gonna initiate it. Poirier has a significant advantage on the ground when it comes to jiu-jitsu. It's just not Justin Gaethje's cup of tea."
Ultimately, Schaub is picking Poirier to get it done by a rather surprising method.
"I do think Dustin's gonna incorporate grappling more, especially if the leg kicks are a success early on by Justin Gaethje," Schaub continued. "I think he'll negate that with takedowns, stop him from kicking. Gun to the head, I could see Poirier winning by submission. So, I'll take Poirier."
