Brendan Schaub Shares Wild UFC 300 "Conspiracy" Theory Involving GSP
Brendan Schaub has turned some heads with his interesting UFC 300 theory.
UFC 300 figures to be a massive event for the top MMA promotion. As of now, nothing has been confirmed for the historic show. While many speculated that Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler could be featured on the card, UFC CEO Dana White recently told reporters that a McGregor return is more likely for the summer of 2024.
With plenty of top names such as Sean O'Malley already booked for events before UFC 300, it's left many to wonder who will be fighting on next year's biggest MMA card. Brendan Schaub has a wild idea of what could go down in April.
UFC 300: Who's Fighting & Who's Sitting This One Out?
On "The Schaub Show," Brendan said he believes that despite White's recent comments, McGregor vs. Chandler will take place at UFC 300, but that isn't his big "conspiracy" theory. He thinks Georges St-Pierre will come out of retirement for a rematch with an old foe.
"I got a little conspiracy," Schaub said. "If you look at the lay of the land, most of the big dogs are taken before UFC 300. So, UFC 300 I think you're gonna get Conor McGregor-Chandler, and then I also think, and I have no inside sources, I didn't source check anything with this but it's just what appears what I think this could line up, I think UFC 300 you're gonna get Conor-Chandler and you're gonna get GSP-Nick Diaz."
The former UFC heavyweight went on to say that typically retired fighters aren't very active on social media. Schaub has taken notice of GSP creating more content on social platforms. He also pointed to "Rush" being pulled from a planned grappling match with Nick Diaz and solely doing commentary for the event as another reason for his theory.
"He was supposed to grapple on December 15th, they pulled him from that card," Schaub said. "He's just commentating on it now. So, he's in shape, I think they're pulling him and I think he's staying in shape to come out at UFC 300. I have no reason to think this besides just adding up the clues here."
It's important to note that reports had surfaced claiming that the reason the grappling match between GSP and Diaz was called off is that both men suffered injuries during preparation.
