Conor McGregor has taken aim at a former UFC fighter for his callout of Justin Gaethje.

Gaethje has gotten his share of callouts ever since he captured the BMF title when he knocked out Dustin Poirier with a head kick in their UFC 291 rematch. "The Highlight" has his sights set on the winner of the UFC 294 rematch between lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira.

That hasn't stopped Gaethje from receiving challenges for his BMF hardware. The latest challenge comes from Jorge Masvidal, the original BMF titleholder. Gaethje dismissed that idea, as he isn't convinced Masvidal would come out of retirement to fight at lightweight.

Conor McGregor caught wind of Gaethje's response and used it as an opportunity to rip Jorge Masvidal on the X platform.

"The most un-bmf shout ever," McGregor wrote. "He fights at 155. lol. B****. Get into that sauna, b****."

The "Notorious" one and "Gamebred" have long hurled barbs at one another. This dates back to the height of Masvidal's popularity when he had a string of big wins against Darren Till, Ben Askren, and Nate Diaz back in 2019. At the time, UFC boss Dana White said he didn't want to book the matchup because he felt Masvidal was far too big for McGregor.

As mentioned, Masvidal has retired from pro MMA competition. With that said, "Gamebred" has admitted that he loves the sport and sometimes gets the itch to compete again. Time will tell if a big money offer occurs down the line that Masvidal can sink his teeth into for a return.
