Daniel Cormier feels he owes one rising UFC fighter an apology.

Noche UFC took place this past Saturday night (September 16). Cormier was on color commentary and post-fight interview duties for the event. During the main card, Raul Rosas Jr. defeated Terrence Mitchell in just 54 seconds via TKO. Rosas looked like a world beater just one fight removed from suffering the first loss of his pro MMA career.

Cormier hopped inside the Octagon to interview Rosas after the fight. While the interview didn't appear to be off in any way, "DC" felt he could've handled his opening question better.

Daniel Cormier recorded himself reacting to the fallout of Noche UFC and posted the video on his YouTube channel. During the clip, the UFC Hall of Famer apologized to Raul Rosas Jr. for immediately bringing up his lone career defeat.

"I feel like I didn't do him justice by bringing up the loss as the first question," Cormier said. "I feel like I should have led with something better opposed to how he got over the adversity. Now, for me, I've dealt with a ton of adversity. So, I want to know that, but in reality I should have been in there to uplift Raul Rosas Jr. I shouldn't have brought up his loss before that. My bad, I shouldn't have done it. My apologies to Raul."

Time will tell if Rosas will respond to the apology, although some commenters online have already said they didn't feel the question was out of line.
