Forget Jon Jones, Tyson fury Calls Out Anthony Joshua For September
Just days after his last discourse with UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, Tyson Fury has officially called out Anthony Joshua for a boxing super-fight.

Fury announced his callout on his Twitter on May 26, claiming that the "draft contract" has been sent to AJ "for a fight in September":
"A few days ago I sent a draft contract to [Anthony Joshua] for a fight in September [at Wembley Stadium], it's a fight that everyone wants to see including myself. Come [on] AJ let's give the world what they want to see. This time I'm not gonna make a million [videos] & keep putting pressure on. The ball is now on your side."
Anthony Joshua Doesn't Take Fury's Offer Seriously
In an interview with Boxing Social, Joshua's promotor Eddie Hearn explained that Joshua hadn't received a contract. Joshua believed Fury had other opponents in mind, and he "doesn't take [Fury] seriously":
"There's definitely no contract .... So I'm not sure what he's talking about there.
"When I talked to AJ last night he says 'Isn't he fighting that Jai Opetaia or Demsey McKean? His next fight is in Australia isn't it?"
"From AJ's point of view he's fighting in August and then December. If that falls apart he'll definitely look at the Tyson Fury Fight, but he doesn't take him seriously."
Fury did entertain fighting one of two Australian boxing prospects for his next opponent, No.3 ranked Cruiserweight Jai Opetaia, and No.54 ranked heavyweight Demsey McKean.

It wouldn't be unlike Fury to fight a much lower ranked opponent despite being the No.1 ranked heavyweight in the world. In his last bout he fought Derek Chisora who was 0-2 against Fury at the time, and had won two of his last five fights.
Prior to Deontay Wilder II & III, Fury fought Otto Wallin and Tom Schwarz, both of whom were dozens of spots lower in the rankings.
Just a week prior to the AJ callout, "The Gypsy King" was building his brand by verbally jousting with Jones and assisting Dana White by pulling media attention away from a Francis Ngannou boxing-match.
At best, Fury's AJ "callout" should be taken with a pinch of salt.
