Wrestling News: Former WWE Champion Will Miss Pivotal NWA Show Due To An Illness

This former WWE titleholder is out of commission for at least one night.

An ex-champion under the WWE banner has been forced to miss an upcoming show for NWA.

When promoters mention, "Card Subject To Change," it's for a reason. Sometimes injuries or personal matters can get in the way of a performer's ability to entertain in front of a live crowd and TV viewers. It's the reason why many top stars such as WWE Raw's CM Punk and former AEW World Champion "Hangman" Adam Page are currently off the road.

In this case, an illness has prevented one NWA titleholder from participating on a March 8th show.

Former four-time WWE 24/7 Champion and current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 is off the NWA Chicago card tomorrow night. NWA promises to fly out a replacement for the show.

At the moment, there's no word on the type of illness EC3 is dealing with, but of course the hope is that it's not something serious. EC3 has yet to speak on the situation as of this writing. There is also no word on who the "substitute" will be at this time.

EC3 has been the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion for nearly 200 days. He won the championship from Tyrus back in late August 2023 in the main event of the NWA 75th Anniversary Show. This is his first reign with the top NWA gold. He had a previous run with the NWA National Championship, but vacated it four days shy of 100 days to chase the world title.
