Jake Paul has a dance partner for his next boxing match, and it has thrown some fans off guard.

Paul has said that he's looking to start moving away from pro MMA fighters and start facing actual boxers in his journey with the sweet science. He hopes to prove that he can hang with legit boxers when he faces Andre August in an eight-round bout on December 15. The action will be held inside the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

"Ask and I shall deliver," Paul wrote. "August has more KO’s than me, more wins than me, more experience than me, but I like to gamble. The path to world champ starts here. Just straight up boxing."

It's a surprising follow-up after Paul earned a unanimous decision victory over former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz back in August. One has to think this is a far greater risk for Paul fighting an unknown boxer with experience as opposed to an MMA fighter with a far bigger name.

In a press release announcing the fight, Andre August sounded confident in his ability to send Jake Paul packing from the boxing industry.

“I don’t talk very much. I’m all about that action! Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources, but he doesn’t have my hunger. When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.”

The card will also feature a vacant women's WBC super middleweight title fight between Shadasia Green and Franchón Crews-Dezurn.

Jake Paul vs. Andre August will not be airing on pay-per-view. The event can be watched with a standard DAZN subscription in the United States.
