Joe Rogan advises UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski to do one thing following his knockout loss to Islam Makhachev.

Volkanovski stepped in on short notice to challenge Makhachev for the UFC Lightweight Championship on October 21. Makhachev vs. Volkanovski 2 headlined UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, and it ended with the Dagestani bruiser scoring a first-round head kick KO.

Fans expressed concern for Alex Volkanovski after the fight, as he told reporters that he wanted a quick turnaround to fight Ilia Topuria in January. He also got emotional during the UFC 294 post-fight press conference, saying that he needs to take fights in order to have direction in his life.

During an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," the UFC color commentator shared a key piece of advice for Volkanovski after being knocked out in brutal fashion.

"Sure, he'll bounce back," Rogan said. "I can't wait to see him get back in, but sometimes when you get knocked out like that you really should take a bunch of time off 'cause he got really cracked. I mean, if you watch the head kick it was like head kick right to the temple, right to the side of the head. It's a bad place to get hit. He got hit really hard. You know what? Wait a little time after that."

The question remains, will the UFC find it in Volkanovski's best interest to take that rest, or will the promotion grant "The Great" his wish?
