Jorge Masvidal Receives Interesting UFC 300 Challenge From Old Rival
Jorge Masvidal has been called out for a UFC 300 fight by someone he's quiet familiar with.
After suffering his fourth straight loss back in April 2023, Masvidal retired from pro MMA competition. "Gamebred" suffered back-to-back losses to Kamaru Usman in two failed bids for UFC gold, and unanimous decision defeats against Colby Covington and Gilbert Burns.
Masvidal admitted he was feeling the itch to return and simply made things official in an X post on New Year's Day.

Ben Askren, who is best known to UFC fans for his five-second KO loss to Jorge Masvidal via flying knee, recently told Daniel Cormier that he thinks he knows why his old rival is returning to prizefighting.
"I mean, probably because he ain't got no more money," Askren said. "That's my best guess. People spend it. Mike Tyson spent 400 million."
Askren was then asked by Cormier if he would fight "Gamebred" at UFC 300 if given the chance. It's clear that "Funky" still wants that rematch.
"Listen, if Dana called me and said, 'Ben, Jorge Masvidal, UFC 300 [International Fight Week], I don't give a damn. I'm out of retirement. I'll fight him, I don't care."
If the UFC isn't bringing Masvidal back, and a boxing fight were to be proposed instead, Askren isn't onboard with that idea.
"I suck at boxing," Askren said. "You guys all saw that. I'm not gonna fight him in boxing. What are you? Dumb?"
Askren capped things off by saying while he would take an MMA rematch with Masvidal, he won't be begging for it.
"He'll never say yes to that unless he losses some more money or something, but it would be great," Askren said. "I would love to. You know what? It's one of those things kind of like what you said about Michael [Chandler], it's like I don't wanna be begging and groveling for it. It's unlikely to happen, and so if someone calls me and says it's gonna happen, okay, I'm there. If they don't, I'm just gonna live my life."
