Sean O'Malley Makes Bold Statement On Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira 2

The UFC bantamweight has some thoughts.

If the UFC plans to book a rematch between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira, Sean O'Malley is all in.

Oliveira is fresh off a brutal first-round TKO victory over Beneil Dariush. He maintains his number one spot on the official UFC lightweight rankings. Oliveira lost a UFC Lightweight Championship bout against current titleholder Makhachev back in October 2022. Oliveira insists that he wasn't himself on fight night.

After his dominant victory over Dariush, some are wondering if Oliveira would fare better in a rematch with Makhachev. It's a topic that was discussed on the "TimboSugarShow."

O'Malley made it clear that he thinks this version of Oliveira would make for an intriguing rematch with Makhachev.

"He seems fired the f*** up, motivated, ready to go," O'Malley said. "Islam's coming off a very controversial win over Alexander Volkanovski. Charles coming off a dominating win over Beneil Dariush. Very interesting fight. That's what I wanna see next at '55. I don't really care to see anyone else. I wanna see Charles vs. Islam 2."

O'Malley went on to make a bold statement about the second fight.

"He [Oliveira] can outstrike Islam," O'Malley said. "He did get dropped in the fight, but stylistically, I mean it's hard to say, obviously he got dropped last fight. I feel like he could outstrike Islam if he wrestles hard, but it's so hard to say."

At this time, the UFC hasn't announced Makhachev's next title defense. UFC President Dana White did admit, however, that Makhachev vs. Oliveira 2 sounds intriguing.
