Sean Strickland Responds To Jared Cannonier Slamming His Chances Against Israel Adesanya
Sean Strickland has fired back at fellow UFC middleweight Jared Cannonier.
Cannonier is well aware of the situation that's currently going on at 185 pounds, and he reacted to Strickland potentially getting a UFC title shot. Strickland might be needed, as Israel Adesanya took to social media to claim that Dricus du Plessis won't be fighting him next due to a swollen foot.

Helen Yee recently interviewed Jared Cannonier, who shared his thoughts on a possible UFC middleweight title showdown between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland.
"Sean doesn't even believe he can win that fight," Cannonier said. "He just wants to go in there and fight and get some money. I believe I can win that fight. So, I think that's the big difference between me and a lot of these other guys. Izzy's not an easy fight. The way those styles match up, I don't think Sean will be able to work his jab. His funky ass footwork, his ability to evade shots, I think Izzy's way too long. He's a sniper and he's too diverse. He's too versatile with his striking and I don't think Sean's grappling is good enough to make it a factor, to make it as competitive."
Strickland caught wind of Cannonier's comments and he took to his Twitter account to respond.
"Makes me laugh to hear Cannonier opinion on me and Izzy," Strickland wrote. "I like him but man I won that fight, you know I won that fight, the announcers know I won the fight. I won the fight in first gear lol but yes you threw really hard, I don't know what they felt like but they looked hard."
As of now, Adesanya's next title defense hasn't been made official. We'll be sure to keep you posted on the UFC middleweight title picture once more details emerge.
