WWE News: Stone Cold Steve Austin Drops Massive Tease On Marquee Wrestling Match

Stone Cold keeps WWE fans on their toes.

Could we be seeing Stone Cold Steve Austin back in the ring?

The end of night 1 of WrestleMania 38 saw Steve Austin emerge victorious over Kevin Owens in his first wrestling match in nearly 20 years. Fans were stunned when Stone Cold accepted Owens' challenge for a match, as his meeting with "KO" hadn't been billed as a traditional match.

Many praised Austin's performance, especially for someone who was out of action for as long as he was. There's also the fact that Austin was 57 years old at the time. Stone Cold had such a good showing that some fans are clamoring to see him try his hand in the ring again.

Their wish might come true.

During an interview with Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Stone Cold Steve Austin expressed his belief that he can top his most recent performance if he has to.

"I dissected what I did, and I know that I can improve on what I did," Austin said.

For "The Texas Rattlesnake," wrestling Kevin Owens happened because all the chips fell into place.

"I said I'd never get in a ring again unless all the stars aligned," Austin said. "And for some reason, somehow, they all did. And at the age of 57, I headlined the first night of WrestleMania. I never thought I'd do that. If you'd have told me that when I retired in [2003], I'd have said, 'You're crazy.' So I'm not gonna sit here and say no to anything, because you never say never in this crazy business of sports entertainment."

CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin get heated during a WWE video game promo.

Of course, Stone Cold's name has been mentioned constantly ever since CM Punk made his return to WWE. While Punk will be out of action for a while due to a torn triceps injury, Stone Cold Steve Austin isn't ruling out one dance with "The Second City Saint."

"I like Punk, and I think Punk likes me -- so, as long as he can take a [Stone Cold] Stunner," Austin said with a laugh. "I consider him a great friend, a great guy and a great wrestler who's had a great career. We'll see."
