Tom Aspinall Responds to Jon Jones Claiming Interim Champ ‘Hasn’t Done Anything'
You didn't think Tom Aspinall was going to let Jon Jones' latest comments slide, did you?
For UFC Heavyweight Champion Jones, there's bigger fights out there than the interim titleholder Tom Aspinall. Stipe Miocic - who he's defending the title against at UFC 309 - and current Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira, Jones revealed in a recent interview with Kevin Iole.
Jones vs. Aspinall? The matchup is "more than likely not" happening, the 37-year-old insisted to the sound of much backlash from fans clamoring for the title fight between two of the world's best heavyweights. Jones insinuated the fight wouldn't do much for his career at this point, and the UFC 309 meeting with Miocic may be his final chapter.

Aspinall Claps Back With New Video
Aspinall might not be as big of a name as Miocic or Pereira, however, it's hard to deny the Brit an opportunity at the undisputed heavyweight title with eight of his last nine UFC fights ending in a KO win for him.
Almost called a nobody by Jones, Aspinall would put out a video response to Jones saying he "hasn't proven" or "done anything" in the UFC's heavyweight division.
Aspinall lets his fists do the talking with highlight after highlight, showing his dominance in a UFC run which has seen him beat everybody he has faced inside the Octagon (including half of the heavyweight Top 10) outside of a 15-second injury loss to Curtis Blaydes in 2022.
The numbers don't lie, with Aspinall posting his UFC records for all to see:
- All-time average fight time: 2:02
- Second-most finishes since 2020
- Most knockdowns per 15 mins: 4.09
"Jon Jones don't want that smoke," World's Strongest Man Eddie Hall commented on Aspinall's post.
Jones: "My Journey Isn't Dictated By Hype"
Seeing his fair share of criticism online for saying he probably won't fight the interim champion, Jones says his legacy speaks for itself - and that's with or without Tom Aspinall.
"At this point in my career, every decision is rooted in purpose," Jones wrote on X on Friday. "My journey isn’t dictated by hype or outside opinions—it’s about crafting a legacy that speaks for itself, one step at a time. I’m here to do what’s right for my career and my legacy, with a vision that’s clear and unshakable. Focused, driven, and in complete control of myself. The story continues, and it’s unfolding exactly as I’ve envisioned."
