UFC Legend Makes Shocking Prediction For Amanda Nunes vs. Irene Aldana

A stunning prediction for Amanda Nunes vs. Irene Aldana.

One UFC Hall of Famer has made a bold prediction for the upcoming title bout between Amanda Nunes and Irene Aldana.

The next UFC pay-per-view event will emanate from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 10. Nunes will put her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship on the line against Aldana in the main event of UFC 289.

Nunes is a -350 betting favorite, while Aldana is the +275 underdog, per Bovada. Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion "Suga" Rashad Evans is taking his chances with the underdog.

Speaking to host Karyn Bryant and former UFC fighter Alan Jouban on ESPN's "UFC Live," Evans revealed that he's picking Aldana to dethrone Nunes.

"I gotta go with Aldana, man," Evans said. "I feel like, I know, Mexico's on the surge, but I mean, Aldana, she's such a massive force. She seems so big in there, and that left hook, oh my god."

Jouban then asked Evans if he thinks the left hook of Aldana will find the chin of "The Lioness."

"Yes, absolutely she catches her," Evans responded.

For Evans, MMA in Mexico is red hot with the likes of Brandon Moreno and Alexa Grasso nabbing UFC gold. Yair Rodriguez also has a UFC title as an interim champion. Evans believes Aldana will continue the momentum.

"Aldana is, for me, she's on the surge, and Mexico is so hot right now," Evans said. "It's got a lot of momentum right now, and they're training together, they're working together. When you're in that environment, I've been in those teams, and the energy there is just on another level. So, you start to kind of level up to everybody around you, and I think that's for Aldana."

Evans and Jouban both agreed that Aldana will pose a greater threat to Nunes than Julianna Pena would've in the originally planned trilogy fight.
