WWE Rumors: Major Friday Night SmackDown Superstar Teases In-Ring Future
A prominent WWE superstar has dropped a big tease on what the future might hold.
There are a bevy of top performers in WWE who are out of action at the moment. Injuries derailed WrestleMania 40 season for CM Punk and Charlotte Flair, as well as Shotzi. Luckily for the company, the drama involving The Rock, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, The Bloodline, and Cody Rhodes has kept interest in the product hot.
Still, there are some names who have been sorely missed, and one of them might be making a return in the near future.
Elimination Chamber 2024: Massive WWE Name Arrives In Perth Ahead Of PLE Event
Former three-time WWE Champion and ex-World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus has taken to his X account to hint at a return to the ring soon.
"ANYONE missing 5 star banger matches? #MOTY2021 #MOTY2022 #MOTY2023."
"The Celtic Warrior" hasn't been inside the ring since the August 18, 2023 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Sheamus lost the final match of Edge's second run as a WWE performer.
It was reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio that Sheamus was suffering from a shoulder injury, and he's been out of action ever since. It was also reported by Fightful that the Irishman's WWE contract is set to expire this year, although it's possible that time on the deal could be extended due to the injury.
It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for Sheamus, who was red hot for a good stretch with his classic Intercontinental Championship match against GUNTHER at Clash at the Castle back in 2022, as well as the WrestleMania 39 Triple Threat Match with the Imperium leader and Drew McIntyre.
