A top WWE superstar recently had a confrontation with one reporter ahead of Elimination Chamber 2024.

WWE talent and crew members have arrived in Perth, Australia for this Saturday's PLE event. That means a slew of performers have been doing media rounds in the "City of Light." These days, it's rare for an interview with current WWE talent to go completely off the rails.

This time, however, things got a bit old school.

WWE News: Another Major Superstar Will Miss WrestleMania 40 Due To Injury

Former two-time WWE United States Champion Austin Theory recently spoke to Anthony De Ceglie, editor-in-chief for The West Australian. During the conversation, De Ceglie said a word that has long been viewed as a cardinal sin in the world of professional wrestling. He described what Theory and his colleagues do as being, "fake."

This did not go over well with "All Day," who threatened to "smack the s***" out of De Cegile before walking off. You can take a look at the intense situation below:

Theory has certainly brought back some old school vibes when he chastised the reporter. In the past, interviewers have actually been physically attacked by performers for saying the wrong things about pro wrestling.

Back in 1997, the late Leon White, known to fans as Vader, made a trip to Kuwait on behalf of WWE. Vader appeared on a talk show along with The Undertaker. The host was Bassam Al Othman, who brought up the dreaded "fake" word. For the most part, Undertaker played it cool, but Vader did the opposite.

Vader knocked over a coffee table and grabbed Othman by his tie, threatening to harm him. The former WWE superstar was arrested and detained for 10 days. White has insisted that the show's producers planned for the incident to occur, but Othman wasn't clued in.

In perhaps an even more infamous moment in late 1984, David Schultz slapped then-20/20 reporter John Stossel across the face twice after the interviewer said he thought wrestling was "fake." Schultz has claimed that he got physical with Stossel under a direct order from Vince McMahon.
