The PFL has continued its year of big moves by signing a new multi-year deal with ESPN.

The 2023 PFL season officially wrapped up last week with this year’s PFL Championship event that took place in Washington, D.C. Six champions were crowned that night, and the event also featured the long-awaited return of PFL star and former two-time champion Kayla Harrison when she defeated UFC veteran Aspen Ladd.

The recent acquisition of Bellator was a huge development in the PFL’s ongoing efforts to close the gap with the UFC, and now the promotion has announced that it has extended its deal with ESPN for media rights in the United States.

The accompanying promo video for the announcement includes a number of the PFL’s biggest names, including this year’s massive free agent acquisitions in Jake Paul and former UFC heavyweight king Francis Ngannou.

Neither Paul nor Ngannou have stepped into the PFL SmartCage as of yet, but both men are expected to make their respective debuts next year and will likely feature prominently as part of the promotion’s planned PPV Super Fight series.

Extending its partnership with ESPN is another huge development for the PFL this year following its high-profile free agent signings and the acquisition of Bellator.

The UFC is also currently partnered with ESPN, but it will be interesting to see if the growth of the PFL and this new multi-year deal have any influence on whether or not ESPN chooses to also extend its deal with the UFC at some point.
