UFC Champion Rules Out Fighting On Historic UFC 300 Card In Las Vegas
One reigning UFC champion will not be a part of the UFC 300 card.
On April 13, the UFC will be holding its biggest event of 2024. UFC 300 is a milestone for the promotion, and the company's boss Dana White has been dropping fight announcements left and right.
There are already two title fights set for the event, with one of them being a symbolic BMF Championship fight between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway. Many are expecting a third title fight to be added in Leon Edwards, the UFC welterweight champion, vs. Belal Muhammad but that hasn't been made official at this time.
What is set in stone is that one key titleholder will not be featured on the UFC 300 card.

During a live stream with UFC 300 fighter Diego Lopes, UFC women's flyweight champion Alexa Grasso said she will not be competing on the signature MMA card of the year. X account MMA Latinoamérica was the first to bring Grasso's reveal to light. Grasso said she pushed to compete at UFC 300, but it just wasn't meant to be.
Grasso last fought back in September 2023 in a championship rematch against Valentina Shevchenko. The bout ended in a controversial draw. The two figure to be primed for a trilogy fight at some point, but it depends on how much longer "Bullet" needs to recover from surgery on a broken thumb.
Some online have floated the possibility of Alexa Grasso fighting on the UFC 301 card, but that is just fan speculation for now.
