UFC superstar Conor McGregor has voiced his frustrations surrounding his rumored comeback appearance at UFC 300 on April 13, 2024.

"The Notorious" was ring side at "The Day of Reckoning" in Riyadh on December 23, where he lambasted the UFC for keeping him on the shelf:

"The Mac has loads to offer and loads to deliver," a frenetic McGregor told TalkSport."...They're talking Manny [Pacquiao] here in Saudi, the lads in the UFC aren't really talking any!

"I'm sitting here useless... Give me something, I was supposed to be back in April --- it was supposed to be December [2022]!"

McGregor continued to explain how he felt about his treatment by the UFC:

"They've never treated anyone [like me] --- for all the figures I've brought in this game... I sell more than everyone's been buying. No one in the history of the fight game has been treated the way I'm getting treated at this minute... They should open the floodgates for me, yeah?!

"I'm waiting. My patience is wearing thin."

Given that McGregor has reentered the USADA testing pool, and is allegedly booked to fight Michael Chandler, there is the possibility of a contract dispute delaying his return.

Thanks to the UFC Antitrust lawsuit, payouts of some of the top UFC athletes have been inadvertently disclosed, including McGregor's.

In the biggest fight in the sport's history, McGregor alleged that he'd be making "around the $50 million mark" for fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov. This was an estimation based on PPV sales, of which McGregor reckoned UFC 229 would sell 3-3.5 million.

MMA Fighting's Dave Meltzer would later estimate the PPV sales to be closer to 2.4 million. Regardless of the PPV sales, both McGregor and Nurmagomedov's base salary was reported to be below $4 million for the biggest event in UFC history.

UFC 229 reportedly generated $86.4 million for the Las Vegas Metropolitan area.
