Despite being an experienced former UFC champion, Holly Holm has become a huge betting underdog against Kayla Harrison. Dana White announced The two world champions to fight at UFC 300 in a post on January 23.

Per BetOnline, Holm opened as a +310 underdog to Harrison's -375. The lines have since adjusted to +385 on Holm and -500 on Harrison. This makes Harrison a colossal favorite in her UFC debut.

The odds may have been skewed by Harrison's history with the PFL, where she went undefeated in 15 fights. Harrison was also a gold medalist in Judo at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. By comparison, Holm is going through a rough patch in her career. The 42-year-old fighting veteran is 5-4-0-1NC in her last ten outings. Holm's last appearance was a submission loss to Mayra Bueno Silva that was overturned to an NC.

"The Preacher's Daughter" might still be underrated by the oddsmakers, however, as the pedigree of fighters on her resumé far exceeds Harrison's. Holm's last 10 opponents have a combined record of 104-34-2, including fights with Amanda Nunes, Cris Cyborg, Raquel Pennington, and Irene Aldana. Harrison's last 10 combine for 96-43-1, including a win over Aspen Ladd and a loss to Larissa Pacheco.

If one thing is for certain, Holm has a history steeped in defying harsh odds, and she will have another opportunity come UFC 300.
