Michael Bisping Gives Bold Prediction for Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler
Ex-UFC middleweight champion-turned MMA pundit Michael Bisping has a bold prediction for the rumored bout between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
Fans have been ruminating about the matchup ever since McGregor dropped his announcement on December 31, 2024, and now UFC Hall of famer Bisping weighed in on the fight.
Speaking to Betway, Bisping gave McGregor his credit as a dangerous fighter, but called his cardio into question:
"In the first round he'd be able to knockout Chandler but after that he'd be a sitting duck and far too tired," Bisping said. "McGregor has had problems with stamina in the past. McGregor is a sprinter; he's explosive, he's fast, but after rounds two or three he's tired, he's blowing out of his arse."
Bisping reckons McGregor's best chances are in the opening two rounds, but doesn't give the Irish star much of a chance thereafter:
"I think there's a very good chance that Conor knocks him out in round one because he'll land a shot and he's known for that left hand, he made an entire career out of it, and I think Chandler will come out and stand and I think McGregor will get the job done, but if he can't knock him out in round one then he's done. After that, I think Chandler would maul him round three, four, and five. But if he loses he'll still be able to generate big numbers. The Diaz trilogy is there. Jake Paul is begging him to fight in the PFL."
It remains yet to be seen whether the bout will be officially confirmed. UFC CEO Dana White has already remarked that McGregor's opponent is undecided despite the announcement.
