UFC hall of famer Michael Bisping believes Tom Aspinall's UFC London performance as "utterly fantastic", and that championship gold is undoubtably in his future.

Commending Aspinall in an interview with Sky Sports on July 26, Bisping revered the British heavyweight and remarked that even current champion Jon Jones can't "hold a candle" to him:

"It's one of the best performances I've ever seen from a heavyweight," Bisping explained. "...Tom just blew through [Marcin Tybura] like he was nothing. And I do 100% believe that he will be the champion --- in fact I know he will be the champion --- barring any freak injury. ...He will be the champion of the world.

"Jon Jones is the heavyweight champion. ...He's incredible, he's one of the greatest of all time," Bisping continued. "I don't think he can hold a candle to Tom, I think Tom will do the same thing to Jon Jones as what he did to Marcin Tybura. I don't think there is anyone that can stop Tom Aspinall."

This marks a significant shift in sentiment for Bisping, who was warning Aspinall of complacency prior to his Tybura fight. Bisping told Betway that "Tybura is a real threat," and questioned Aspinall's ability to run through Tybura like his past opponents, remarking "Tom could blow through him or we might see Tybura get a hold of him, ragdoll him and control him."

Despite this, Aspinall certainly subverted expectations with a frictionless victory over Tybura on July 22, and his stock continues to rise. Whether he has a chance at beating one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time remains yet to be seen.
