The latest big-name addition to the UFC roster, Michael "Venom" Page (aka MVP) is ready to make a lot of noise in a very short amount of time.

At 36 years old, MVP is gearing up to take on Kevin Holland at UFC 299 on March 9, 2024, with his sights set firmly on the welterweight title.

Speaking to TNT Sports on December 21, "Venom" outlined his plans to make a statement on the world stage for mixed martial arts:

"It always comes down to, my ego says 'I can beat everybody over there [in the UFC], there's not one person that can beat me," Page explained. "That's what my ego's saying to me.

"...The thought is the amount of time I have left. I'm in it for a short time not a long time. I'm gonna create so much noise and I'm gonna do it very very quickly."

UFC Newcomer MVP Calls for Fines Against Fighters That Cross the Line

Despite being new to the UFC, Page is already vocalizing his thoughts on some controversial topics.

Colby Covington had the media stirring with his denigration of Leon Edwards' late father at the UFC 296 presser on December 16.

"Chaos'" weaponization of dead parents as 'trash talk' caught the attention of MVP, who openly spoke against that level of promotion:

"What I've been seeing so far in combat sports, I hate," MVP said on The MMA Hour. "I don't like people talking about people's fathers, people's girlfriends, people's kids, all of that stuff. We need to get back to martial arts."

Page recognized that trash talk helps promote fights, but suggested a way to "alleviate" the problem:

"Just do something to alleviate [the issue]. If you're going to step over the line, I'm not going to punish you [publicly] because it sells... Have that fine. Let's see how often you're going to want to do things like that, like the yellow card in football - You don't want to promote things the wrong way."
