UFC Rankings: Ilia Topuria Debuts at Top Spot, Down Goes Alex Volkanovski
The UFC rankings are getting rearranged.
That's right, it's that time of the week again: moving day. UFC 298 answered a lot of questions regarding who's the best in the world, especially at featherweight, where we saw a new champion crowned in Ilia Topuria.
Once the UFC pound-for-pound king, the now former champ Alexander Volkanovski has lost his undisputed title along with his #3 pound-for-pound ranking behind Jon Jones and Islam Makhachev.

Volkanovski falls four places to #7 pound-for-pound, and when it comes to the featherweight division, he takes away former rival Max Holloway's #1 contender status.
Finally entering the pound-for-pound discussion himself, new champion Topuria soared past 'The Great' and landed inside the top 5. In addition to top seeds Makhachev and Jones, Topuria only trails behind Alex Pereira and Leon Edwards.
'El Matador's' rankings debut has him higher than current champs Sean O'Malley, Dricus du Plessis and Alexandre Pantoja. That's what happens when you dethrone the #3 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
