UFC 300: Bruce Buffer Shoots Down UFC Record Holder's Introduction Request

"I appreciate all the fans pushing me for it."

Jim Miller will add another accolade to an incredible career when he fights at UFC 300, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like Bruce Buffer intends to grants the UFC record holder’s request for a unique introduction at the event.

“A-10” added to his already record number of UFC appearances and wins when he submitted Gabriel Benítez last month, and fans were thrilled when the 40-year-old was quickly booked to take on Bobby Green at UFC 300 on April 13.

Miller humbly requested that the UFC's longtime Octagon announcer introduce him as “Jim F***ing Miller” for his fight with Green, but Buffer recently shot down that idea when asked about it on an episode of The Schmozone.

“I don’t like cursing in my job,” Buffer said. “Unless I’m completely ordered to do it, it’s not my choice to do it. I respect Jim’s wishes, I really do…I’m very particular about what I say, so at this point the answer is no. I’m not going to say it. I appreciate all the fans pushing me for it and everything else. I’d go Jim 'Friggin' Miller, maybe.”

Buffer’s reasoning for denying the request is understandable, but the decision will likely draw the ire of plenty of fans considering Miller’s fight with Green will give the lightweight veteran the unique distinction of having competed at UFC 100, 200, and 300.

Not getting a special introduction is unlikely to influence Miller’s preparation for his 46th UFC bout, and if the 40-year-old is able to best Green he’ll also extend his record number of victories as part of a massive card that curiously still lacks a headlining fight.
