UFC 300: Khamzat Chimaev Unleashes Daring Rant On Dana White For Broken Promise

Chimaev has some stern words for Dana White.

Khamzat Chimaev is not happy with UFC CEO Dana White.

Back in October 2023, Chimaev took on former UFC middleweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. The winner was promised a 185-pound title shot. Chimaev won the bout via majority decision, but he hasn't received that title opportunity.

It was understandable initially, given that Chimaev was stricken with an illness. He has since recovered, but it isn't looking like he'll be next in line for a crack at Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 300.

During an interview with ESPN's Brett Okamoto, Khamzat Chimaev questioned who could possibly get the next middleweight title shot if it isn't him (via BJPenn.com).

“All these guys fight me, but I’m the only one undefeated and undisputed, 13-0, so I don’t know.” Khamzat Chimaev stated in a recent interview with ESPN MMA. “They promised me after Usman fight, ‘You will for sure going to fight for the title,’ and I win that fight. I don’t know what’s going on."

Chimaev then made it clear he isn't thrilled with Dana White seemingly passing on him when it comes to the next championship fight in his weight class.

"I heard Dana White say stuff like, ‘I don’t think Khamzat is next for the title.’ That’s b******* man.”

Khamzat Chimaev has a perfect pro MMA record of 13-0 so far. He's beaten the likes of Usman and Gilbert Burns, but many are wondering how he'd fare against a top natural middleweight. Hopefully, we won't have to wait long to find out.

For now, it looks like Chimaev may have to wait for whatever the UFC has cooked up. Dana White recently told reporters he's meeting with Israel Adesanya to discuss his current status, and some have speculated that "Izzy" will get the next middleweight title shot over Chimaev.

UFC 300 is rather questionable for Adesanya, however. Ariel Helwani reported that he's been told "Izzy" won't be ready for the historic event. Helwani did note, however, that the UFC could try to persuade Adesanya to bump up his return time frame, but Chimaev insists he's available.
