Israel Adesanya is stoking the flames ahead of UFC 300.

A major talking point in the world of MMA is what the UFC plans on booking to close its April 13 pay-per-view event. The promotion has yet to announce what the headliner for UFC 300 will be. Some have scoffed at the idea of the main event potentially being a UFC welterweight title fight between champion Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad.

Of course, the rumor mill has been running wild and one name that has consistently popped up is Adesanya.

Dana White Appears to Leak UFC 300 Bout Order, Main Event Reveal Imminent

The former two-time UFC middleweight champion took to Instagram Stories tease being featured on the UFC 300 card.

In the main event of UFC 297, Dricus Du Plessis defeated Sean Strickland to capture the UFC Middleweight Championship. After the fight, DDP called for Israel Adesanya to end his hiatus and fight him for the 185-pound gold.

There is some bad blood between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis over "true" Africa roots.

"The Last Stylebender" is the only man to hold the UFC middleweight gold twice and he can break his own record at three if this fight comes to fruition. Of course, it's all speculation for now, but it would definitely fit the bill of a worthy UFC 300 headliner.

Here's a look at how the UFC 300 card is shaping up:

  • Zhang Weili (c) vs. Yan Xiaonan - for the UFC Women's Strawweight Championship
  • Justin Gaethje (c) vs. Max Holloway - for the BMF Championship
  • Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
  • Jiří Procházka vs. Aleksandar Rakić
  • Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
  • Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
  • Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Cody Garbrandt
  • Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison
  • Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopes
  • Jéssica Andrade vs. Marina Rodriguez
  • Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller
