UFC 300 News: Top Contender Frustrated By Delay to Leon Edwards Title Fight
Drew Beaupré
One of the UFC’s top welterweight contenders is ready to challenge Leon Edwards for the division's title at UFC 300.

Edwards currently sits atop the UFC welterweight division thanks to his infamous head-kick knockout against Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. "Rocky" has defended his title twice since then.
#2-ranked Belal Muhammad is the presumed next challenger for Edwards' belt, and “Remember the Name” seems to be growing impatient for his first shot at UFC gold based on a recent social media post.
A matchup between Edwards and Muhammad has previously been discussed as a possible UFC 300 headliner, but recent updates from UFC CEO Dana White imply that the promotion would prefer to feature a higher-profile bout at the top of that milestone card.

The timing of Muhammad’s post comes shortly after unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev shot down the idea of a fight at UFC 300 due to Ramadan.
White claimed several weeks ago that a date for Edwards vs. Muhammad 2 would be announced soon, and maybe that fight will end up headlining UFC 300 if the promotion fails to put together a different main event with just two months to go until April 13.
