Top UFC Title Challenger Not Sold On Michael Page's Chances Against Kevin Holland: "Horrible Matchup For Him"
Michael Page is now a UFC fighter, but one top title challenger feels he's in for a rude awakening.
Page is locked in for UFC 299 on March 9, 2024. The former Bellator fighter will take on Kevin Holland in his promotional debut. While Page is known for his exciting finishes, he's in for a tough task against the battle-tested Holland, who has made significant improvements to his game over the years. It's no easy introduction to the UFC for "MVP," and Michael Chandler doesn't think the fight ends well for him.

During an appearance on "Steve-O's Wild Ride," top UFC lightweight "Iron" Chandler lauded Michael Page for his ability to create magic inside the cage. With that said, he feels "Venom" was thrown to the wolves for his UFC debut.
"The dude's got some ridiculous walk-off spinning kicks and back elbows, and broken people's faces," Chandler said. "He's a highlight reel kind of guy, but does it translate well? I think Kevin Holland's a horrible matchup for him. I think Kevin Holland beats him, but I like MVP as a person. I think he's a pretty cool dude."
Page, who had been a highly sought after free agent, likely begs to differ. "MVP" has amassed a pro MMA record of 21-2, with his only losses coming against Douglas Lima and former interim Bellator welterweight champion Logan Storley.
"MVP" has shown he has some issues on the ground, and it'll be interesting to see if Holland will use his jiu-jitsu game to exploit that hole. Let's just hope nothing gets in the way of these two trading leather at UFC 299.
