UFC News: Dana White Reveals Shocking Surprise Guest For Saturday's Fight Night
UFC Vegas 86 is getting an update, and it isn't related to the 14-fight card on the eve of Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a sitdown with the Las Vegas Review-Journal Wednesday, White discussed the buzz around the city, the upcoming event from the UFC APEX, and expectations for the remainder of Q1 and Q2 in 2024.
In mentioning Saturday's UFC Fight Night card, which is headlined by a five-round middleweight tilt between Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer, White revealed a special surprise guest attending the fights.
"To do an event in our hometown, no-brainer," White said when discussing the importance of hosting a UFC event during Super Bowl weekend. "To have [Power] Slap Friday, UFC Saturday and Sunday the Super Bowl is a no-brainer. I mean, the people that are in town that are going to these events...Elon Musk is coming to the fight on Saturday, you know what I mean?"
Musk had been rumored to fight Meta's Mark Zuckerberg in 2023, but talks fizzled out despite t-shirts made by the promotion to excite the so-called super-fight.
However, Musk will be one of the few celebrities present at the event, as all UFC APEX events are closed to the general public outside of regular media members and parties close to the event itself.
UFC Vegas 86 kicks off at press time at 4 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. PT, followed by the main card at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m PT. The entire card is accessible exclusively through ESPN+ as the promotion continues its 11-week streak of events, culminating with UFC 300.
