UFC News: Flying Groin Strike Ends Fight Early at UFC Vegas 86
Daniel Marcos vs. Aoriqileng at UFC Vegas 86 started very well.
Marcos, undefeated in his professional career, went to war with his Mongolian adversary Aoriqileng, before an unconventional groin strike ended the fight early. After an action-packed first round, the two bantamweight fighters came out in the second and traded back-to-back fouls, including an eye poke and three groin strikes.
It was the third groin strike, which Aoriqileng endured during a jumping attack, which ended the fight. "The Mongolian Murderer" took the allotted five-minute recovery time before referee Jason Herzog waved off the fight; an extremely underwhelming ending to an otherwise entertaining fight.
The result marks the first blemish on Marcos' perfect 15-0 record. The Peruvian striker had a contentious UFC debut, where he narrowly defeated Davey Grant by split decision - 12 of 14 media members scored the bout in favour of Grant. Marcos now faces back-to-back contentious results in his first three UFC fights.
As a result, the UFC should be looking to schedule a rematch for a later date.
