UFC Fighter Claims He Pulled Out Gun In Front Of USADA Official While Naked

One USADA official was "shook" by a UFC fighter.

One UFC fighter has quite a story about the time he pulled out a gun during a USADA visit.

It's not often you hear about a gun being involved whenever a USADA official met with a UFC fighter, but that's exactly what happened with one athlete who competes at featherweight and bantamweight. It's no secret that when USADA served as the official anti-doping agency of the UFC, fighters had a major privacy issue.

Despite this, USADA officials usually weren't in any danger, but one in particular could've been in harm's way on just his second fighter visit.

Cody Stamann recently shared a wild story of one USADA visit when speaking to Nick Baldwin of theScore. Stamann, who had been out drinking the night before, was woken up to a loud knock on his door at 6 a.m. on a Saturday.

Disoriented after being awoken without notice, Stamann believed in the moment that someone was trying to break into his home. The UFC fighter explained what happened next.

"So I grabbed my gun - a 1911 .45 handgun - off my nightstand, I ran to the front door, and just absolutely ripped the door open, just standing there completely balls-out naked. I didn't actually point the gun at him but I had two hands on the gun, standing there in a fighting stance.

"This guy turned around and he looked at me and he was like, 'Uh, I'm USADA, I'm here to do a drug test for you.' I saw immediately that he was a testing officer. I recognized the USADA T-shirt. I said, 'Will you give me just one second, please,' and he went, 'Take all the time you need.'

"I went to shut the door and he was like, 'No, no, no, I gotta go with you.' I was like, 'Are you serious? OK.' So I went to the laundry room and threw some shorts on. Instinctively, I still had the gun in my hand. He asked, 'Will you please put that down?' And I was like, 'Yeah, dude, my bad.'

"This guy was shook. He said to me, 'I just started working here this week.' I was like, 'Am I your first person?' And he said, 'No, you're my second.'"

Stamann said he was attempting to get ready by closing the door and putting some clothes on, but the USADA official had to stay with him for the random drug test. 

Needless to say, Cody Stamann never saw that USADA official again, and he will not have to see another one in the future. That's because the UFC has parted ways with the agency in favor of hiring former FBI agent George Piro to make sanctioning decision, as well as linking up with Drug Free Sport International for sample collection, which is analyzed by WADA and SMRTL.
