'If you play with fire, you'll get burnt' is a proverb that UFC welterweight prospect "The Future" Ian Machado Garry apparently hasn't heard of. The Irish MMA star is set to face Geoff "Handz of Steel" Neal at UFC 292 on August 19, and he's been quick to insult his adversary right where it hurts.

In a video posted to his Instagram on July 9, Garry had a custom print T-Shirt made with Neal's 2021 DUI mugshot on the front, with a large heading "THE FUTURE". Garry then wore the shirt in attendance at UFC 290, and posted pictures to his Instagram:

Garry went one further, selling the Neal shirt on his Instagram shop. Many commenters sided with Neal, and some users called Garry "classless", but when Neal got round to seeing it, the message was a concise "he's dead."

Neal's father spoke out in a post on Neal's Facebook group:

"Turns out Ian Garry is straight trash. That’s Geoff’s mug shot on his shirt. Weirdo thought it would be cute to wear this shirt to UFC 290. He’s so far back from the necessary fighters that no one gave a damn. I hope like hell he stays healthy so he makes to the 19th. It’s been a minute since somebody spoke out of place…ask [Belal Muhammad] and Mike Perry how that worked for them.

"- Dad"

UFC 292 just got even more captivating with Garry stepping up his antics, while Neal aims to protect his pride.
