UFC & Miami Heat Issue Statements on Conor McGregor’s Sexual Assault Allegations

The UFC and Miami Heat have both issued statements following the news that Conor McGregor has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
According to the initial report from TMZ Sports, the former two-division UFC champion is alleged to have forced a woman into a men’s restroom before he “violently” sexually assaulted her at the Miami Heat’s Kaseya Center on Friday, June 9, immediately after the conclusion of the game between the Heat and Denver Nuggets.

McGregor’s presence at the game has already been well- documented considering he participated in the halftime entertainment and subsequently sent the Heat’s mascot to the emergency room. The alleged sexual assault was reported on Sunday morning, and on Thursday morning McGregor’s representatives released a statement maintaining his innocence.
With an investigation ongoing, both the UFC and Miami Heat have released statements regarding the allegations against McGregor.
"The organization is aware of the recent allegations regarding Conor McGregor and will continue to gather additional details regarding the incident. UFC will allow the legal process to play out before making any additional statements," - Statement from the UFC.
"We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, we will withhold further comment," - Statement from the Miami Heat.
A former two-division UFC champion and the biggest star in the history of MMA, McGregor has unfortunately found himself in legal trouble on more than one occasion over the last several years.

Incidents such as his attack on a bus containing a number of fighters ahead of UFC 223 have occurred within the confines of the combat sports world, however he was also accused of sexual assault by two women in 2018 and 2019. More recently, in January a women claimed to have jumped off of McGregor's yacht to escape his advances before the lawsuit was later withdrawn for unspecified reasons.
The alleged victim from the NBA game is reportedly looking to settle with the NBA, Miami Heat and McGregor out of court, and it remains to be seen what findings are reported upon conclusion of the investigation into the incident.
