UFC Secures Ilia Topuria's Brother in Major Signing
The UFC has signed Alexsandre Topuria, the brother of UFC 298's featherweight title challenger Ilia Topuria.
Alexsandre, possessing a professional record of 5-1-0, currently rides a three-fight win streak on the regional circuit and has never seen the final round timer. His sole loss comes to fellow prospect Ivo Ivanov by TKO in 2015. Since then, "El Cazador" ("The Hunter") has finished all of his fights by KO, all within the first round.
The smaller Topuria brother has been vying for his place in the UFC since early 2022, where he called for his shot as a late-notice replacement against Nathaniel Wood at UFC London.
There's no doubt his current signing is a result of "El Matador's" increased popularity. Ilia's stock is already sky-high with his European appeal and unbound confidence; a victory at UFC 298 will only skyrocket the Georgian-Spanish fighter's appeal to an astronomical level.
The Topuria brothers can also be seen handling business in a bar in early 2023, where a gentleman decides to pick a fight with a group of trained fighters.
