Brunno Ferreira has successfully defeated Phil Hawes at UFC Vegas 84. "The Hulk" pressured Hawes from the get-go, enduring everything "No Hype" had to offer and finishing the fight in the closing seconds of round one.

The finishing sequence began when Ferreira landed flush with a  knee that jolted Hawes' head straight back. The American striker stumbled back, visibly hurt by the attack. Ferreira immediately followed up with a straight left hand which sent Hawes to the mat. The Brazilian smelled blood in the water and pounced on his opponent with brutal ground and pound, turning his lights completely off.

It's a tough point in Hawes' career as he drops to 4-4 in the UFC. He was once on a four-fight win streak and now faces down a three-fight losing streak. All of Hawes' defeats have come by flatline KO, and it's a wonder if he'll ever step foot in a cage again.

As for Ferreira, he improved to 2-1 in the UFC, after losing to Nursulton Ruziboev in mid-2023. "The Hulk" should be looking at a fringe top-15 fight, if not a crack at the top-10 rankings, since the last man to defeat Hawes, Ikram Aliskerov, fought Sean Strickland in his very next fight.
