UFC Video: Magomed Ankalaev Stops Johnny Walker in Rematch

Ankalaev vs. Walker 2 is history.

UFC Vegas 84 has reached its conclusion, which means the main event rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker has ended.

The first meeting between Ankalaev and Walker took place back in October 2023 at UFC 294. The fight ended in the first round, as the controversial Octagon doctor deemed Walker unfit to continue following an illegal knee strike from Ankalaev. Things got hectic inside the Octagon, and both Ankalaev and Walker had to be separated.

UFC decision-makers rebooked the light heavyweight clash for UFC Vegas 84 inside the UFC Apex. Ankalaev was hoping to wash away the bad taste of not only the ending to his first fight with Walker, but his disappointing championship bout against Jan Blachowicz in late 2022, which ended in a split draw.

As for Walker, he knew going into this bout that a win would put him closer than ever to a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship opportunity. Having won three in a row before the no contest, Walker felt confident going into the rematch.

Ultimately, it was Ankalaev who scored the second-round KO finish. Here is how things transpired:
