Former Stanford Cardinal great and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey recently showed his support to the Lifetime Cardinal, directly supporting Stanford student-athletes during their time at the university.

In a recent video posted to social media, McCaffrey narrated the Lifetime Cardinal video that explained how they plan to help Stanford athletics.

With Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, and McCaffrey set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, having him narrate this video should have Stanford alumni ready to help their next big star.

In college, McCaffrey was an incredible talent. It was obvious that he had all of the makings of an NFL star and he's lived up to those during his time with the Carolina Panthers and 49ers.

He spent three years at Stanford, earning an All-American nod and the 2015 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year award. In his three seasons, he rushed for 3,922 yards and 21 touchdowns. He added another 1,206 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns.

The Cardinal finished with the No. 3 ranking in the final AP poll in 2015 in large part due to what he did on the field.

Stanford isn't only one of the best athletic colleges in the NCAA, however. Their uniqueness comes from their academics, as the university is regarded as one of the best schools in the world.

McCaffrey explained what it meant to be a Cardinal in the video, saying much more than just being an athlete.

“It means you’re powered by relentless ambition, living to defy labels, craving opportunities to shine, on the pursuit of athletic and academic greatness. It means you’re seizing your potential, stepping out of your comfort zone, pushing the boundaries of greatness, striving to make a difference on and off the field."

McCaffrey will play in his first Super Bowl and make Stanford alumni proud.
