Star Georgia tight end, Brock Bowers, recently returned to the field for the Bulldogs and helped them to a dominant win over Ole Miss at home, 52-17. Bowers came back and only had three receptions for 34 yards and a receiving touchdown. He came back from ankle surgery after just 26 days.

While he was rehabbing and working to get back to the field he signed a new NIL deal with the protein bar company, MET-Rx. He signed with the company and as part of his deal he has philanthropic demands, he'll make appearances at promotional events, and he'll be the face of a social media campaign for the brand. The star tight end has made his brand based around fitness, so this fits him perfectly.

He told Pete Nakos of On3, “I think it just fits all the stuff I kind of embody. We have NOBULL, which is all about hard work. Working with MET-RX, it’s clean energy, high protein and meal replacement. It’s awesome to work into my schedule day by day. It just fits right in with what I’m about and everything like that.

“It’s a brand I’ve known and trusted for a while. It’s just played such a big role in my performance and recovery and everything. Being able to have it on my busy days, like Tuesdays and Thursdays, I’ve got class pretty much all day, and being able to get that extra meal in is huge.”

The vice president of marketing and innovation at MET-Rx parent company 1440 Foods, Amie Trestman, also told On3, “Brock really helps connect with the brand because he really inspires people. Like how he explained that he’s juggling working classes and a full busy schedule. Also being an athlete. So being able to have a high protein meal replacement on the go, is really what we’re excited to partner with him on.”

Bowers is a great way for MET-Rx get in front of a new consumer base. He has more than 130,000 followers, and because of that he'll be able to deliver the social media aspect. He also has name recognition, which is invaluable to a brand like MET-Rx.
