Colorado Star Travis Hunter Signs Squishmallows NIL Deal
The Colorado Buffaloes football team was the talk of the country at the start of the season. Suddenly, the hype has dropped considerably after a series of losses, but players such as Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter have continued to receive attention.
With the Arizona Wildcats coming to town on Saturday, November 11, Hunter has now signed a new NIL deal with Squishmallows, per Pete Nakos of On3.
With the Buffs hosting their final home game of the season at Folsom Field on Saturday, it will be Fan Fest and Hunter sent a message to the fans after signing the Squishmallows partnership:
“I know you’ve seen me and my Squishmallows, now is the chance to get yours. This Saturday at Fan Fest at Folsom Field. It starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.”
Squishmallows also teased something with the mountains in their Instagram post on Thursday as well: "This is where you would go for scenic views and amazing hikes. Can you guess the #SpeakingSquish riddle? 🤔"
Squishmallows began in 2-17 and has become more and more popular, with big retailers such as Target and Walmart selling stuffed toys. Hunter has his own show on Twitch, which he used to discuss many things during the season, including the viral dirty hit by Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn that injured Hunter, although the two later met up and moved on from the incident in a classy move by both sides.
Hunter transferred from Jackson State after committing to the FCS program following his flip from Florida State in a seismic move that showed how important Deion Sanders' recruiting pitch was, and he then followed Coach Prime to Boulder.
Hunter plays both offense and defense and has been a huge part of the Buffs' season, despite them losing three in a row and five of the last six following a 3-0 start and a spot in the top 25.
Hunter's off-the-field moves have done well with his transfer to Colorado, and his NIL valuation is over $2 million, as On3 reports, and it should continue to grow.
