The offseason has officially begun for the Colorado football program - and after a 3-0 start - Coach Deion Sanders' first season ended with a 4-8 record.

Coach Prime recently said that Colorado is "not an ATM" and he will recruit players who want to play for the Buffalo football program and not just find NIL dollars.

With the transfer portal expected to be buzzing with plenty of activity later this week and the Buffs likely to be a factor in some of the big names, Sanders knows NIL is going to be a factor. When asked if they have enough resources at Colorado, Coach Prime got honest about what is expected, per Jake Schwanitz of DNVR:

“We’re getting there. We definitely need giving, you know what I mean. It’s unfortunate to say this but some kids cost. If you start looking at some of the top teams in the country you see what was spent.”

A year ago when Sanders was first hired from Jackson State, he landed Travis Hunter, his son Shedeur Sanders, and plenty of other big names despite limited resources at Colorado's NIL collective.

The Buffs' start to the offseason didn't go well as right after they lost to Utah, Class of 2025 quarterback Antwann Hill Jr. decommitted.

Colorado moving to the Big 12 Conference should help players come to Boulder more easily than before and Sanders' name will always provide value to the program.

It will be a busy offseason for Colorado and the NIL world should be spinning quickly in Boulder.
