Today, Duquesne will play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 47 years. After a miraculous run culminating in being crowned A-10 tournament champions, the sixth seeded Dukes locked up an automatic bid for the March Madness Tournament. En route to the conference title coach Keith Dambrot and his team took down Saint Louis, St. Bonaventure, VCU, and fellow March Madness at-large selection Dayton.

The last time Duquesne played in the tournament was after another miracle A-10 tournament run. In 1977 the 12-14 Dukes, led by Showtime Lakers’ Norm Nixon, defeated a much different composition of A-10 teams in Penn State, Villanova, and UMass en route to the NCAA Championship. Now, to honor the passage of time, and celebrate the current A-10 champions, the Duquesne NIL Store, part of the NIL Store Network has released limited edition 1977 throwback jerseys.

Ten current players are featured in the promotion and a significant portion of every sale will be paid to the athletes in royalty earnings. The NIL Store Network is powered by custom apparel company Campus Ink and currently serves over 55 Division-I schools by offering a marketplace for institutional and athlete NIL co-branded merchandise.

This is just the beginning. As men’s and women’s tournament storylines progress for the many teams in the NIL Store network more limited edition items are likely to follow.
