The Georgia Bulldogs have won back-to-back College Football Playoff national titles and are looking like the favorites to win the whole thing once again. Head coach Kirby Smart has worked wonders in Athens and has hit home run after home run in the recruiting front and the transfer portal.

However, with college sports in the second year of NIL, Smart was asked whether or not he believes that has led to more parity in the game, per Dan Morrison of On3

“I think so. I don’t know. I don’t think we’ll know the totality of NIL and portal until we look back from a five to ten-year window. You can’t really have enough substance to judge that, but there seems to be more parity. I don’t know. Teams don’t have as deep of rosters as we used to.”

At this point, it might be too early to tell if there is more parity. But, Smart did bring up an excellent point about the rosters and their deepness of them.

With NIL changing the way players view programs, not to mention the business of the transfer portal, it sure has made a difference for a lot of schools across the country.

NIL certainly has benefited the bigger programs, while on the flip side making it more difficult for the smaller programs to win some of the big-name players due to the number of resources and assets they can provide on the NIL front, but that should continue to change as school's get more sponsors to partner with their collectives on campus.
