Heisman Winner Daniels Spends Birthday Giving Back with NIL Partner
While LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels' life has changed forever since winning the Heisman Trophy over a week ago, he continues to use his NIL partnerships to give back to those around him.
Prior to earning college sports' most prestigious individual award, Daniels collaborated with his NIL partner HEYDUDE to gift shoes to Tiger administrators and Coach Brian Kelly, thanking them for their support in his two years at LSU.
Now, Daniels is spreading the love to the Baton Rouge community through his partnership with Raising Cane’s. On his 23rd birthday, the All-American took part in the restaurant chain's annual bike giveaway where he and founder Todd Graves donated 100 bikes and helmets to the Boys and Girls Club and Big Buddy of Baton Rouge.
Additionally, Graves and Raising Cane’s presented Daniels a $25,000 check for the Greg Brooks Jr. Victory Fund that helps cover expenses for Brooks - the LSU safety - who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.
“This is something that I always wanted to do is to just give back,” Daniels shared with media in attendance. “Me growing up, I always wanted to be as a role model and inspiration, so coming out here and giving back to the community and also being able to raise money for my best friend, Greg Brooks and everything he is going through. I'm just happy to be here, blessing others."
Daniels finished his Heisman season by leading the nation in total offense, passing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns and rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was awarded AP Player of the Year, Davey O’Brien Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award honors.
Although the NFL Draft-bound Daniels already announced that he is skipping the Tigers' upcoming ReliaQuest Bowl on January 1 versus Wisconsin, his work within the LSU community is clearly not done.
"I want to say thank you to everyone who made this happen, but all great things must come to an end," Daniels shared in his announcement video. "I feel better about the state of the program with the quarterback moving forward. No matter what, I promise this will not be the last time y'all see 'That Kid' around, because this is my city and my second home."
