Indiana University's two official collectives - Hoosiers Connect and Hoosiers For Good - collaborated over the holiday season to host their second "IN For Indiana" campaign, where an anonymous donor pledged $1 million in matching funds for all donations made.

"IN For Indiana" kicked off on November 14 with hopes of creating the largest day of NIL support for IU student-athletes. According to Inside INdiana Business, the collectives raised $500,000 from 641 people in less than 48 hours.

The kickoff included live-streamed segments with multiple IU student-athletes across men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball and football teams. Additionally, famous Indiana alums Victor Oladipo, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Cam Jones and Grace Berger, among others took part in the fundraising festivities.

The campaign continued through the end of December, hitting $2 million in total donations, including the anonymous $1 million match.

“The support that we have received from Hoosier Nation this year has been instrumental in being able to provide IU student-athletes with NIL opportunities,” Hoosiers Connect and Hoosiers For Good executive director, Tyler Harris, said in a release. “We’re grateful for everyone who supported our student-athletes and communities over the last several weeks and helped us secure the additional $1 million in matching funds.”

The Hoosiers recently hired a new football coach in Curt Cignetti, who looks to leverage NIL a bit more in Bloomington than he did at James Madison. He now inherits a team that finished 3-9 overall with a 1-8 record in Big Ten play.

"The importance of NIL continues to grow in the world of intercollegiate athletics, and we are proud of the proactive approach we've taken in this space and the opportunities our students enjoy," said Indiana Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Dolson. "The reality is that if you want to maximize the opportunities for your students and programs to succeed on the level IU fans are accustomed to, we must excel when it comes to NIL. The 'IN for Indiana' campaign provides a special opportunity to highlight the importance of NIL, and to double your impact with any gift to Hoosiers Connect and Hoosiers For Good. My hope is that Hoosier Nation comes together and sets a new standard for NIL support."
