The Northern Iowa NIL collective for men's and women's basketball, Panther Collective, is diving into the NIL game in a strong way. The collective has announced a partnership with SingleSpeed Brewing to release a series of ales, the collective announced in a press release.

The Panther Collective President, Nick Sorbe, opened up on the partnership with the brewery in the official release

"This partnership with SingleSpeed Brewing is an example of NIL at its best. We commend their team for engaging and supporting our student athletes with this endeavor. The beer, PROWL, is a crisp and refreshing Golden Ale, crafted with Game Day celebrations front of mind. PROWL is the perfect beer to enjoy while watching UNI Basketball, and by doing so, you'll be supporting NIL efforts for those student athletes."

The partnership is officially titled PROWL, and there will be a variety of options available with various release dates.

PROWL will release the SingleSpeed Waterloo TapRoom on November 11, and the SingleSpeed Des Moines Taproom the day after.

A portion of all retail sales will go towards the NIL collective. Iowa State and Iowa are a couple of other programs to ink NIL deals with a brewery, and this could be a more common trend as NIL continues to develop.

The Panther Collective also has a deal with Athlete's Thread and sells plenty of Northern Iowa gear, ranging from sweaters to t-shirts to jerseys.

Northern Iowa men's basketball begins the 2023-2024 season with a road game against North Texas, and the ales will officiall y be available one day before the home opener against Loras.
