Tom Brady's Niece Inks 'Absolutely Ridiculous' NIL Deal
UCLA softball star Maya Brady continues to expand her NIL portfolio ahead of the Bruins’ 2024 season. The niece of NFL legend Tom Brady, Maya signed a new deal with diamond sports accessories brand, Absolutely Ridiculous.
The brand announced the partnership on Instagram, captioning that there will be a Brady collection soon.
Brady will look to take her No. 8 preseason-ranked UCLA team to new heights after finishing 52-7 in 2023. The Bruins had a disappointing end to an impressive season, losing to Grand Canyon and Liberty in the Regional round.
The shortstop has done everything that she possibly can, earning first-team All-Pac-12 in two of her three seasons. Brady was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, was a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year top three finalists, and was named an NFCA first-team All-American in 2023.
Her career numbers are video game-like, posting a .448 batting average with 18 home runs in 58 games last season.
Absolutely Ridiculous is known for its sliding mitts for baseball and softball players. The mitts help players on the base paths and are another accessory that adds some flash.
The company also sells elbow guards, gloves, hats, and more.
Up-and-coming MLB star Jazz Chisolm of the Miami Marlins promotes the brand as he's seen wearing the gear during his games.
According to The Sports Business Journal, Brady will be the featured softball athlete in brand campaigns. While arguably being the best softball player in the country and having nearly 100 thousand Instagram followers, the partnership should help Absolutely Ridiculous grow its softball brand.
