UCLA Star Rice Lands Beats by Dre NIL Deal
The No. 2 UCLA Bruins women's basketball team is off to a historic start this season, at its highest ranking in program history. Sophomore star point guard Kiki Rice's all-around play - averaging 13.3 points, 6.9 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game - has been a main driver of the team's success.
Arriving in Westwood a year ago as the No. 2 recruit in her class, Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year and a McDonald's All-American, Rice has exceeded expectations both on and off the court.
As her consistent play elevates her standing now amongst the best college players in the country, her NIL portfolio continues to flourish in her second season at UCLA.
Rice announced a new partnership with Beats by Dre, staring in a campaign video created with the brand's Beats Academy.
Rice joins a roster of Beats' NIL athletes that include Bronny James of USC, Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels of LSU, Shedeur Sanders of Colorado, Caleb Williams of USC and Deja Kelly of North Carolina.
Beats Academy is a Los Angeles-based program for aspiring college student creators where they can create social media content featuring Beat's college athletes. This campaign with Rice is the Academy's first launch.
Rice became the first-ever NIL athlete for Jordan Brand and with the help of her team at Wasserman, has expanded to partnerships with Buick, Gonna Need Milk, Clean California and Lockerverse, among others.
A season ago, Rice earned Pac-12 All-Freshman and Pac-12 All-Tournament Team while leading the Bruins to a Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament.
In UCLA's highest profile win of this young season - a 78-67 win over UConn at the Cayman Islands Classic - Rice dropped 24 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Rice and the Bruins next visit No. 12 Ohio State on Saturday.
