UPDATE: Anthony Edwards' Injury Status For Timberwolves-Warriors Game

Anthony Edwards is on the injury report for Sunday's game.

On Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be in San Francisco to face off with the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.    

For the game, they could remain without one of their best players, as Anthony Edwards is on the injury report.    

After playing in the first 71 games of the season, the former UGA star has missed each of the last three games due to an ankle injury.   

Underdog NBA: "Anthony Edwards (ankle) questionable for Sunday."

Edwards is in the middle of a fantastic season with averages of 24.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

The 21-year-old is also shooting 46.1% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range.

On Saturday, Chris Haynes of the NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report reported that Edwards could return on Sunday. 

Via Haynes: "There’s strong optimism Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards (ankle) could make his return Sunday against the Golden State Warriors, league sources tell @NBAonTNT@BleacherReport."

Right now, the Timberwolves are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 37-37 record in 74 games. 

They are 5-5 in their last ten games but also in the middle of a two-game winning streak. 

On the road, the Timberwolves are 16-20 in the 36 games they have played away from the Target Center. 

As for the Warriors, they are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 39-36 record in 75 games. 

They are on a three-game winning streak and 30-7 in 37 games hosted at the Chase Center.
