UPDATE: Ben Simmons' Current Injury Status For Suns-Nets Game
UPDATE: Ben Simmons has been ruled out (via Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium).
On Wednesday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will host Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns at Barclays Center in New York.
For the game, they could be without one of their best players, as three-time NBA All-Star Ben Simmons is on the injury report.
Via ESPN's Tim Bontemps: "Ben Simmons has been downgraded to questionable for tonight’s game against the Phoenix Suns with a knee contusion.
Simmons appeared to tweak his knee late in Monday’s win on an awkward fall."
Simmons has played in seven games this season and is averaging 7.0 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest while shooting 58.5% from the field.
The Nets are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 19-27 record in their first 46 games.
They are in the middle of a two-game winning streak and most recently beat the Utah Jazz by a score of 147-114.
In 18 minutes of playing time, Simmons had ten points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and one block while shooting 5/5 from the field.
Following the Suns, the Nets will visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday evening.
As for the Suns, they are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-20 record in their first 47 games.
They are 8-2 over their last ten games and most recently beat Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat by a score of 118-105.
Following the Nets, the Suns will visit Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks on Friday evening at State Farm Arena in Georgia.
